100 staff needed to support expansion

Last January, Wharf T&T announced a new three-year investment project called "+Enterprise Network". An additional HK$1 billion has been invested in a city-wide network infrastructure expansion to have fibre-optics directly built into desktops, with a potential to be upgraded to 10G per connection for its business customers.

To support its increasing range of services, the company is looking for professionals and operations leaders for various units including sales and marketing, professional services, business administration and engineering.

"We plan to recruit 100 [professionals] this year to support our business growth. In the second quarter, we intend to hire [people] in sales, including the positions of account managers, senior account managers, and sales managers," says Florence Cheung, vice-president, human resources at Wharf T&T.

New hires for the sales team should be university degree holders with three to six years' solid sales experience in managing corporate or enterprises clients. Good knowledge of information technology and telecommunications products and services, with exposure in network infrastructure and system integration project selling, are preferred.

"We are looking for people with excellent consultative selling skills and strong business acumen," Cheung says. "Market intelligence of major industries would be an advantage."

Shortlisted applicants will attend individual or panel interviews.
