Company celebrates year of records and awards

The business model behind Hactl is based on the principle that nothing should hang around inside its Chek Lap Kok airport terminal for too long.

When it comes to industry awards, records and certificates, however, they seem to stick to Hactl like glue.

On October 22, Hactl handled 10,184 tonnes of cargo - an all-time high.

In the last week of the same month, it handled 62,650 tonnes - another record.

For the full month of October, Hactl handled 260,622 tonnes, beating the previous record set in May this year.

On November 26, Hactl was named "Air Cargo Terminal of the Year" for the fourth year in a row at the Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards 2010.

The judging criteria included information technology know-how and systems, airline network coverage, overall efficiencies, incidents of mishandling, handling charges, airline network coverage and the launch and upgrade of new products and services in the past 12 months.

Hactl also received the Hong Kong Management Association Quality Award for 2010.

The award recognises organisations that have achieved outstanding standards of quality and made a lasting commitment to the process of quality management in Hong Kong - and there was more success to follow.

On November 11, Hactl became the first Hong Kong air cargo operator to obtain the Cargo 2000 Quality Management System compliance certificate - a system to implement measurable standards for improving air cargo efficiency.

Last year, Hactl received two Hong Kong Information and Communications Technology Awards - Best Business Grand Award and Best Business (Application) Gold Award.
