Contracting could be a key to unlock your career search in Hong Kong
Are you a seasoned senior executive, and yet struggle to find suitable work in Hong Kong?

More and more people now see the benefits of short-term assignments in Hong Kong for the first time.
There are three main benefits of contracting, which can be summarised as “ABC”: advance your career, build your network and continuous improvement.
In terms of career advancement, a contract role might present a way into an organisation that would not otherwise be open for various reasons – such as if the organisation doesn’t have available headcount at the time.
If you can demonstrate value, then the contract length could be extended – or a permanent role might be created for you.

You will be able to build relationships within your team and with stakeholders. These people – who would have seen first-hand the value that you bring – could inform a myriad of other people about your knowledge and skills during and after your time with them.
Lastly, contracting offers continuous improvement. It is never too late to learn about new aspects of your role or field.
You can use different systems, follow alternative processes and work in diverse environments. This will ensure that you stay at the top of your game and have fresh perspectives, which are of great benefit to you, as well as your future colleagues and employers.
