HKBN Introduces Bonus Leave for Talents to Flexibly Enjoy Time-off

HONG KONG, Jan. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited ("HKBN") today announced a 5% and 10% raise for 2015 in the remuneration of Talents working in Hong Kong and Guangzhou respectively. Alongside this salary boost, a performance-based bonus, which on average is equivalent to not less than 2 months' salary, were paid to Talents last December. Top performing Talents were awarded a bonus of up to 4 1/2 months' pay.  In keeping to HKBN's commitment towards upholding LIFE-work priority for Talents, a new "Bonus Leave" scheme has been rolled out to allow Talents to arrange leave with more options and greater flexibility.

As a company well known for advocating more than just work-life balance, HKBN believes that personal health and family should always come first. Besides the usual vacation leave, additional time-off have been given to allow our Talents greater opportunities to enjoy their lives, which includes our monthly early Friday-off at 4pm , half-day leave during festive occasions like Mid-Autumn Festival, Winter Solstice, Christmas eve , New Year's eve , and most recently, the newly introduced "Bonus Leave".  Starting from 1 January 2015 , all full-time Talents who have been rated in performance appraisal of 2013/14 and granted bonus, and have been employed for at least one year, are entitled to "purchase" additional Bonus Leave with his/her salary. By exercising one day's equivalent in pay, Talents can choose to redeem two days of Bonus Leave, up to a maximum of 10 days of bonus leave each year.  Additionally, from January 2015 onwards, Talents having joined HKBN for at least one year are also entitled to 1 day of Anniversary Leave every year in the month of their join date.

Ivy Lau , Director -Talent Engagement and Co-Owner of HKBN, said , "HKBN greatly values Talents and therefore we are often guided by the daily needs of our Talents when shaping Talent related policies. Understanding the challenge of balancing a full-time job and family needs and even part-time studies all at the same time, we've introduced our Bonus Leave scheme so that Talents can flexibly apply for additional leave when needed, rather than settling for no paid leave.  This program will undergo a trial run for one year, after which a review will determine its success or whether improvements can be made. In the future, we'll continue to assess existing Talent benefit policies as well as introduce even more new ideas to make HKBN a better place to work."
