Midland to recruit 200 frontline staff
With property prices on the rise and developers looking to capitalise on the demand for new homes, Midland Realty is hiring about 200 frontline staff to cope with the expected increase in transactions.
"The people we are looking for should also be proactive, hard working and interested in learning about market developments," says Kitty Ip Kit-yee, Midland Holding's executive director. "Qualified real estate agents certainly have an advantage." Successful applicants need to have or obtain two types of professional qualifications: the estate agent's licence and salesperson's licence.
Getting these entails passing examinations that test practical knowledge of the business, including how to interpret the results of a land search, calculating mortgages and understanding the documents required to complete a purchase.
"We offer training for new recruits and prepare them for the Estate Agents Authority examinations, so they can meet the necessary standards in the sector," Ip says.
The company will be organising recruitment activities at local universities to give further details and convince more young people to join.
