Responsible for more than 300 buildings in Hong Kong, Jones Lang LaSalle is recruiting staff with relevant experience to join its management team.
"We are looking for people who are already familiar with property management laws," says Elsie Hui, human resources director for north Asia.
Candidates should be client-focused, organised and independent. They should also have good communication skills and a high emotional quotient.
"Client requests may come at short notice, so candidates must be able to work under pressure and adapt flexibly to different requirements," Hui says. "In addition, strong leadership skills are essential."
New recruits must oversee day-to-day operations of buildings in the company's management portfolio. This involves optimising asset values, managing lease and rental negotiations in a timely fashion and making the best use of resources.
"Employees get exposure to a wide spectrum of real estate services, deal with a world-class clientele and learn global best practices," Hui says. "Besides that, we provide various training programmes, study and examination leave and financial support for professional subscriptions." The company also has a mentoring system.
"Property management has become more significant in Hong Kong and on the mainland as people realise the importance of optimising the value of their assets," Hui says. "The industry has remained strong through the economic crisis and has great potential for growth."
