Property firm seeks trainees

Amid strong sales and a bright outlook, Hang Lung Properties is keen to hire management trainees from local and overseas universities.

"We understand the importance of nurturing young talent and providing career opportunities for graduates," says Velencia Lee, the company's assistant director of finance and administration. "Our programme is intended for high-calibre trainees who have vision and a passion for property development and investment."

The 22-month programme provides on-the-job experience and exposure to the operations of different departments. It also provides a platform for trainees to gain a thorough understanding of the property sector in Hong Kong and on the mainland.

"One characteristic of the programme is that everyone has a six-month posting to a mainland office at some point," Lee says. "It lets them feel the pulse of the sector, which is one of the most important pillars of the national economy."

The career path for trainees depends on personality, aptitude and overall performance as they progress.

Interested applicants need a bachelor's degree in any discipline and can have up to two years' work experience. They must also have excellent communication skills, with proficiency required in English, Putonghua and Cantonese.

"We expect candidates to show strong analytical and leadership skills," Lee says. "They should also be adaptable in a changing environment and willing to be seconded to our mainland offices for short-term or long-term assignments."
