Major Duties: To (a) administer apprenticeship training as governed by the Apprenticeship Ordinance and/or other schemes regarding the employment and training of apprentices; (b) assist employers in recruiting apprentices; (c) advise and assist employers in the provision of suitable training facilities, training programmes and employment of apprentices; (d) coordinate with other operational units of the Council for arranging complementary courses to apprentices, and monitoring their study performance; (e) assist in investigating complaints from employers and apprentices and conducting conciliation of disputes between them; and (f) assist in developing and promoting apprenticeship.

Requirements:
(a) A recognized higher diploma in the discipline of engineering or equivalent, preferably with higher qualification; (b) At least 3 years’ relevant experience in engineering related industries; (c) Good knowledge of apprenticeship training; (d) Proficiency in English and Chinese. Fluency in Putonghua would be an advantage; (e) Knowledge and skills in PC applications; (f) Good interpersonal and communication skills with self-initiative work attitude; and (g) Pleasant and customer-oriented and be a good team player.

Notes:
(1) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in (a) above but possessing 8 years’ experience in the relevant industry and/or teaching may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(2) Candidates will be required to attend a written test.
(3) This post is in the rank of ‘Instructor’.
(4) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
