The appointee will join an energetic and innovative team in teaching the BA (English) programme, and is expected to contribute to scholarly and administrative duties, including teaching, research and publication, curriculum development, module coordination, and committee work. 

Applicants should (i) possess a PhD in English literature or related areas; (ii) preferably some tertiary teaching experience and (iii) have the ability to teach Shakespeare, 17th and 18th century literature is preferred.  The programme covers literature ranging from the early modern to the 20th century.  The research areas of our department include the Renaissance, the Nineteenth Century, Post-colonialism, Modernism, Critical Theory, Theatre and Drama.  We would welcome candidates who can complement or add to our existing research and teaching strengths.
