Assistant Professor in Immunology (Ref. 16110109)


The appointee will be required to (a) conduct lectures, practical sessions and tutorials at taught master’s and undergraduate levels in Immunology, Cancer Drug Development, Vaccine Development, Physiology and/or related disciplines; (b) supervise MPhil and PhD students; (c) establish a vigorous research programme at the cutting edge of immunology, drug development and/or vaccine development and engage in other scholarly activities; and (d) contribute to departmental and programme administration as well as curriculum development.

Applicants should (a) have a PhD degree in the field of Immunology, Immunotherapeutics, Drug/Vaccine Development or a related discipline; (b) have an excellent publication record in peer-reviewed international journals, especially in the areas of Immunology, Immunotherapeutics, Vaccine/Drug Development or Cancer Biology; and (c) be highly motivated and possess creative talents to develop and apply the state-of-the-art techniques in the areas of Immunology to investigate biomedical problems that are critical to the health of humans and/or domestic animals. Preference will be given to those who have an undergraduate degree in Immunology, Physiology, Pharmacy, Pharmacology or a related discipline.

Applicants should have relevant post-qualification experience in teaching and research, have an established track record in obtaining external funding/research grants, and be able to demonstrate evidence of possession of effective classroom teaching skills.

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointments will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
