Faculty of Education and Human Development
The Department of Early Childhood Education, one of the academic departments established under the Faculty of Education and Human Development, aspires to be a leading regional centre for the study of Early Childhood Education and Family Science working collaboratively with schools and service organizations locally and internationally. We work extensively with educators, middle school leaders, professionals, policy makers, and scholars from around the world on and actively take part in various school development projects, knowledge transfer and academic exchange activities. We are committed to delivering and promoting quality practices in all our endeavours.
The Department now seeks post of Associate Professor and Assistant Professor with a relevant doctoral degree. Applicants should have strong track record in research and teaching and in one /several areas set out below:
Special Education, Educational Leadership and Administration, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, Science/Mathematics, Language and Literacy, and Family Process.
The successful candidate(s) will contribute to the growth and development of the Department that plays a central role in all areas of early childhood education; perform teaching and education-related activities/duties; assist in designing, implementing, evaluating and co-ordinating course/programmes/curriculum; supervise students in teaching practice and project work; conduct research or other scholarly activities; and work with schools and education policy-makers in improving schooling for all learners.
Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in a relevant area, a relevant record of research and teaching, evidence of plans for future development and the capacity to work with schools and education professionals. Bilingual competency in English and Chinese and an appreciation of the challenges of working in a multicultural context will be advantageous.
