Established by the Government in 1989, The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has five schools, namely the School of Arts & Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business & Administration, School of Education & Languages, School of Science & Technology, and the Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional & Continuing Education. Through them, we have been providing full-time and part-time programmes at undergraduate, post-graduate, and sub-degree levels.
Today we have over 9,000 full-time and 10,000 part-time students at OUHK with more than 220 programmes of studies. As one of the five academic units of the OUHK, the LiPACE is a dynamic, market-oriented and fast growing continuing education provider. With the mission of promoting life-long learning, the LiPACE offers a variety of flexible and high-quality educational opportunities, with an emphasis on face-to-face teaching, to the public for personal development, career advancement and appreciation of life. These include professional and training programmes, full-time programmes (e.g. Diploma Yi Jin, Diploma and Higher Diploma), full-time/part-time degree and masters programmes in collaboration with overseas institutions, and the Capacity Building Mileage Programme (a flexible learning project designed to equip women with a positive mindset and develop their potentials) in collaboration with the Women’s Commission.

Associate Programme Director (Education and Languages) (at the rank of Senior Programme Manager) (Ref: 16-SPM-281-O)
The appointee will be the Leader of the Division of Education and Languages at LiPACE. He/she will participate in Institute/University administration as well as provide leadership and support in relevant subject/programme teams, where necessary. He/she is required to be engaged in professional/scholarly activities and undertake programme/course planning, development, coordination and delivery (including classroom teaching).
Applicants should normally possess a higher degree and relevant professional qualifications in related subject areas. Relevant experience in related subject areas and/or teaching/administration in tertiary/continuing education is required. Applicants should be proficient in both Chinese (preferably including Putonghua) and English, possess very good interpersonal skills, and have involvement in professional and community activities. Strong network in the sector of Early Childhood Education or possessing of a professional qualification in Play Therapy recognised by the British Association of Play Therapy (BAPT) will be an advantage.
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time fixed term contract. Fringe benefits will include annual leave, medical & dental benefits, life insurance coverage and gratuity, where applicable. A variable pay may also be granted on the basis of performance.
