(a) To assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Centre including programme and academic management, staffing, finances, supplies and procurement etc.;
(b) To act as Stream Leader and assist in leading / coordinating programme teams and work groups;
(c) To develop and maintain networks with the industry and related associations;
(d) To develop and review syllabi and curricula of training programmes and schemes;
(e) To assist in overseeing student administration, support and services, including student recruitment / admission and placement;
(f) To report and monitor the implementation of quality assurance policies and procedures, and assist in validation and accreditation of programmes;
(g) To oversee installation and commissioning of training facilities and equipment; and
(h) To coordinate special events and organize skills competitions, perform teaching duties, and update teaching and assessment materials where necessary.
(a) A recognized higher diploma in Building Services / Electrical / Mechanical discipline, or equivalent;
(b) At least 9 years’ experience in the relevant industry and/or teaching;
(c) Good supervisory, communication and interpersonal skills, and proven administrative abilities;
(d) Proficiency in English and Chinese;
(e) Good command of IT skills;
(f) The ability to pass a trade test;
(g) Extensive experience in the testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance management of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, including central air-conditioning chiller plants and building management systems; and
(h) Proven record in managing a team of staff.
(1) Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in (a) under Requirements but possessing 16 years’ experience in the relevant industry and/or teaching may also apply. Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.
(2) The appointee may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and in designated places as assigned.
