Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Collection System Manager.

In this role, you will

  • Support the development and implementation of numerous complex collection systems, including Collections, Tracking, and Analysis, Café eCafé, Computer Aided Collection System, Cyber, predictive diallers and behavior scoring systems.
  • Manage the operational support of collection system strategies and controls throughout the Asia Pacific region.
  • Facilitate cost effective control of delinquent portfolios, thereby directly increasing profits throughout the region.
  • Lead optimisation of end user utilisation of sophisticated system features and develop skills and knowledge within each country to enable continuous improvement through local staff.
  • Primarily interact with Senior Executives and peers within Retail Banking and Wealth Management Risk, Asia Pacific Collection Managers, local Information Technology and Customer relationship management departments, and also senior management and technical staff within head office departments.
  • Fully understand the operational needs of the countries in the Asia Pacific region, both in support of Retail Banking and Wealth Management business.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration or Business Systems.
  • Extensive years of experience in leading and supporting the development and implementation of complex banking systems, specifically card receivables, core banking system, risk and collection systems.
  • Experience in risk management, debt recoveries and collections.
  • In depth understanding of the collections environment in Asia Pacific as the job holder will be considered the regional expert on this topic.
  • Ongoing monitoring of adherence to the companys global standards for collections. This entails identifying gaps and working with the countries to resolve.
