College Admission Officer (Recruitment) of International Students
College Admission Officer (Recruitment) of International Students is a position in the Global Engagement Office at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Shenzhen, China, to primarily support the work of the Associate Director of International Students in successfully recruiting academically prepared international students for the English taught undergraduate degree program at SUSTech and facilitating their adaptation to the University life after matriculation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Admissions Officer (Market) of International Students is responsible for handling all aspects of the international student recruitment. The Officer is expected to travel abroad extensively to introduce SUSTech to high school and college students, respond to inquiries, interview prospective students, or organize such interviews by SUSTech Admission Committee members over the phone and in person, conduct campus tours, walk students through the entire application and enrollment process, and work with contracted service providers to produce all advertisement and recruitment materials.
Bachelor's degree required, and Master’s degree highly preferred;
Education or working experiences in world top 100 universities highly preferred;
2-5 years relevant experiences in students recruitment or college students services required;
Proven customer service and/or marking experience highly preferred;
Background of working in an international setting;
Knowledge of high school and college education systems in two countries or more;
Must be detail-oriented and have a focus on informing and assisting prospective students; and maintaining high ethical standards and attention to compliance with University policies and regulations;
Must have strong computer skills (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English required, fluency in Mandarin highly preferred;
Must have good people skills;
Must be able to travel 20-30% of time
Physical and Mental Demands:
Must be able to lift 10 lbs.
Travel via plane, car, and metro, and work at nontraditional hours is required to perform this job
Must to able to work in spite of jetlag
Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain
Effectively cope with stressful situations
Strong mental acuity
