Our client is a financial services provider that has grown rapidly over the years across the Asia Pacific region.  Under private equity ownership, they have an aggressive expansion plan and continue to explore new markets, new channels of revenue and M&A.  As a result they are now looking for a strong corporate controller to join their regional office.

 

Reporting directly to the Group CFO, your role will be instrumental in managing and coordinating a high volume of consolidations and legal entities.  You will be technically strong, continually strive to be up to date with accounting treatments and able to advise and recommend appropriate solutions for complex situations. You will lead a small team and work with the senior management team and across the business in an advisory capacity and help ensure the business is represented adequately from a financial perspective.  You will also look at tax planning, financing, treasury and other financial matters that may relate to new investments or the restructuring of existing assets.  In addition, you will help with the integration of new acquisitions and drive improvements and best practices across their businesses.

 

Suitable candidates will be ACA/CPA qualified and have trained with a Big 4 firm to Manager level.  You will have a natural interest in technical accounting treatments, IFRS and complex disclosures for accounting purposes.  You are likely to have strong relationships with the Big 4 to remain up to date on new accounting concepts and have a resourceful background when seeking counsel for how to treat new problems.  You will also have the executive gravitas and presence to advise senior management, influence changes and new ways of thinking in a diplomatic manner.  In addition you will have strong communication skills, and be able to articulate the meaning of numbers in an easy to understand manner.
