A cornerstone of the West Kowloon Cultural District, M+ is Hong Kong’s new museum for visual culture, encompassing twentieth and twenty-first century art, design and architecture, and moving image from Hong Kong, China, Asia, and beyond.

Since 2012, M+ has been presenting diverse public programmes and exhibitions, and is amassing a permanent collection, in the run-up to the scheduled 2019 public opening of the museum building designed by Herzog & de Meuron with TFP Farrells and Ove Arup & Partners HK.

Co-presented by M+ and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC), Tsang Kin-Wah: The Infinite Nothing, Hong Kong in Venice, opened to the public between 9th May and 22nd November, 2015, during the 56th Venice Biennale. Upon its completion, M+ and HKADC will jointly present the response exhibition featuring artist Tsang Kin-Wah’s new site-specific installation at the M+ Pavilion, which follows up on his solo presentation at the Venice Biennale. The intern will work closely with the M+ team in the new exhibition and gain insight in research, programme development, art administration and exhibition-making.

Working Location: Hong Kong
Duration: 7 months (June/July 2016 - Dec 2016/Jan 2017)

You are responsible for:

· providing administrative support and assistance relating to curatorial process and learning programmes; and
· assisting the curatorial team in research, exhibition administration and execution, including procurement, proof-reading, and record-keeping for the project and learning programmes.

You should:
1) possess a recognised university degree in art history, fine arts, art education or related discipline;
2)have at least 1 year experience working in arts administration, curatorship or other related positions;
3)be a Hong Kong permanent resident;
4)be able to work independently and cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment;
5)be highly-organised and detail-oriented; and
6)have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese.

The position is part of the HKADC Arts Administration Internship Scheme supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
