Duties : The vision of the CityU Museum is to develop into a hub for artistic and cultural excellence, creating cutting-edge, technology-rich, and cross-disciplinary exhibitions at the intersection of art, science, and technology that express the unique identity of CityU and support its educational goals and research endeavours. Reporting to the Provost, the appointee will serve as the chief administrative officer of the CityU Museum to provide the overall strategic planning, long-term development and administrative leadership to realize its vision. S/he is expected to initiate strategies to develop international collaborations with major cultural institutions and to draw on different disciplines within the University to establish CityU as a leader in the museum world, both within and outside Hong Kong, distinguished by the creative use of new media designs exhibiting innovative, cross-disciplinary contents that bring together the traditional and the modern, the East and the West.

Requirements : A Master’s degree/equivalent or above in art history, museum studies or related fields, with a strong track record in senior management experience in leading or managing a museum or gallery of comparable scale, preferably in a university or higher education setting. Demonstrated knowledge of professional museum standards/procedures, excellent international networks, ability to work productively in a culturally diverse community, strong communication skills, and outstanding organizational ability are required.

Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and housing benefits [where applicable].
