The Organization

Established in 1965, New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association is a leading non-governmental organisation specialising in mental health. We aim to make a positive difference by advocating for equal opportunities for people in recovery, enhancing their quality of life and moving towards an inclusive society through direct services, social enterprises, mental health education, mutual aid and family support. We currently operate 50 services / projects and 20 social enterprises serving more than 12,000 persons in recovery every year.

Responsibilities:

 

Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Finance and Administration will be responsible for overseeing and leading the Finance, Administration and IT functions of the Association:

 

  1. To lead the accounting, administration and IT teams of the Association and to ensure operations comply with policies and procedures;
  2. To provide financial advice and support to enable the management to monitor the financial status of the Association and implement relevant strategy and decisions;
  3. To participate, control and manage in the budgeting and planning process, and make recommendations;
  4. To prepare financial statements, management reports and regulatory reports independently;
  5. To recommend improvement on accounting practice and financial control procedures;
  6. To participate in the upgrading and enhancement of work processes of accounting, administration and related systems;
  7. To monitor and review the internal control procedures of the Association and propose and implement necessary procedures; and
  8. To be responsible for risk management, manage and monitor key business and operational risk.

 

Requirements:

  1. A recognized University degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines;
  2. Qualified accountant of HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent;
  3. Minimum 10 years relevant experience in senior management position at a sizeable organization preferably with exposure in non-profit organization;
  4. Strong administration and IT knowledge in financial systems;
  5. Strong leadership, strategic and analytical thinking, and problem solving skills;
  6. Proactively following up matters and ability to ensure information is captured in a timely manner;
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  8. Excellent spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin); and
  9. Proficiency in MS Windows application, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
