The Faculty of Science is going to establish the Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture (IBA) which will serve as a knowledge hub that engages in bioresource conservation and sustainable agriculture, promotes and offers professional and public education in sustainable consumption, bioresource and organic agriculture. The Institute is seeking for a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy. During the preparation stage, the appointee will work under the Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre.
The appointee is expected to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Institute and assist the Director in ensuring implementation of the Institute and its projects within budget and timeframe. Duties include (a) maintaining proper administrative procedures and accurate records at the Institute; (b) procuring goods and services; (c) handling income and expenses records; (d) assisting in stock keeping, filing and office equipment maintenance; (e) providing secretarial support to meetings; and (f) performing any other duties as assigned.
Applicants should possess a recognised degree with at least two years of executive work experience, preferably in educational administration or corporate communication. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) is essential. They should also possess strong communication, organisation and execution capabilities; be creative, proactive, mature and able to work independently. Good computer skills, interpersonal skills and ability to work under tight schedule are required. The appointee should also have good computer knowledge in MS office and Chinses word processing and is expected to be self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and have strong problem-solving skill.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
