We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Finance Assurance Manager 

In this role, you will

  • Liaise with Operational Risk and Finance teams to ensure that appropriate operational risk assessment is undertaken for Finance.
  • Review the exception reports produced from the Orion and Audit Issue Systems and follow up with the sites where appropriate.
  • Support and develop the operational risk reporting to the Global Finance Control Office and other stakeholders.

  • Responsible for the provision of Financial Control guidance and support in Hong Kong, ensuring that the operational risk requirements as detailed in the Group Standards Manual, Finance Functional Instructional Manual, and other relevant manuals are implemented, monitored and maintained.
  • Conduct periodic country assurance reviews and site visits to ensure adequate controls are in place over the Finance function to help improve the effectiveness of the operations.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of site visit recommendations, internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Set Financial Control standards for the region and track their implementation.
  • Work closely with SOX and Operational Risk Management Framework team and Business Risk and Control Management team to ensure internal control initiatives impacting the relevant areas are appropriately addressed, managed and smoothly rolled out to sites.
  • Implement special ad hoc projects as directed by the Senior Manager or Regional Finance Control Office to improve the Asia Pacific Finance control framework.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

  • University graduate in related discipline with an accounting qualification.
  • Solid post qualification experience in the banking and financial services industry.
  • Good understanding of the processes in a Finance function.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work professionally with various levels of staff and management.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Thorough understanding of HSBC operations and systems will be an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
