INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED EXECUTIVE EDUCATION 

Full-time / Part-time Business Development Manager (Ref. 16113005)
[Appointment period: six months] 

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a)  proactively market and sell the Institute’s programmes with well-planned business development actions and monitoring, with the view of expanding the University’s market share in niche executive education;

(b)  identify both corporate and individual clients for the Institute’s programmes and work with relevant Professors of Practice, academics and speakers to prepare proposals for pitching and making presentations;

(c)  be accountable for achieving sales targets and budgetary goals, relationship building and maintenance, for repeated sales and furtherance of the University’s strategic developments;

(d)  lead staff and oversee the operations of a wide range of activities of the Institute effectively and ensure that the University rules and regulations are observed in executing the high quality programmes, as part of enhancing PolyU’s reputation and community outreach; and

(e)  undertake any other duties as assigned by the Director of Institute or her delegates. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a)  a good honours degree or a higher degree from a recognised university, preferably in marketing or communications; 

(b)  at least eight years’ relevant working experience preferably in the area of offering executive programs in an university or a profitable commercial company, with proven sales and marketing track record; 

(c)  excellent presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills, and an outgoing personality; and 

(d)  have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and fluency in Putonghua.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service
