We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join us as General Counsel. This is an excellent opportunity to join the statutory body which promotes quality financial reporting of listed entities.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will take on an independent role of providing legal support to the Council with a focus on regulatory and compliance matters including legal vetting of investigation and enquiry reports. As a key staff member, you will also advise on and participate in the FRC’s involvement in the proposed amendments to the FRCO in relation to the changes to the listed entity auditor regulatory regime.
You should be a Hong Kong qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 years’ post qualification experience in administrative law and regulatory matters. An international mindset coupled with a strong ability to interpret statutes relevant to the financial markets and experience in enforcement or disciplinary proceedings would be an asset. Effective communication skills and excellent command of English and Chinese are essential.
