The appointees are expected to teach a number of (a) skill-based courses, such as Athletics, Swimming, Badminton, Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Fitness and Bodybuilding, Flag Football, Flying Disc, Golf, Squash, Soccer, Table-Tennis, Gymnastics, Outdoor Sport, DanceSport, and Tai Chi etc. and/or (b) theory courses (only for Lecturer II position), such as Coping with Stress; Sports Medicine and Sports Science; Wellness in Contemporary Society; Invitation to Sports Science; Weight Control and Healthy Living etc. undergraduate degree programmes. Applicants with expertise in teaching Athletics, Dance, Volleyball, and/or Gymnastics will be advantageous. The appointees may be required to take up supervision for Internship (if appropriate) and administrative work as assigned by the Head of Department.

Applicants for the post of Lecturer II should possess a Master’s degree; while applicants for the post of Assistant Lecturer should possess a Bachelor’s degree, in physical education, sport, recreation or leisure related disciplines. Incumbents should be proficient in the use of English as the medium of instruction and possess good interpersonal and communication skills. Work experience for people with special needs is an added advantage.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two to three years commencing in January or September 2017. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
