Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) is a dynamic design promotion agency, funded by HKSAR Government, who plays the core role in Hong Kong’s innovation ecosystem. We serve as an advocate and platform integrator to nurture and promote design talents, design thinkers and entrepreneurs, and to cultivate design mindfulness, an innovation mindset and culture through new knowledge, projects, events and fellowship.

The Roles
:

  • Develop and implement the Design Incubation Programme (DIP) for nurturing design-preneurs
  • Supervise and maintain the daily operation of the incubation centre
  • Identify and facilitate proactively potential start-up companies in design and creative fields
  • Engage in marketing and promotional activities of the programme
  • Undertake effective project and programme management, including budgetary control, timely reporting and compliance with corporate governance policies, assessment of outcomes and impact of the related activities
  • Provide secretarial and liaison duties to the Design Admission Panel, and related committees
  • Handle logistics, co-ordination, monitoring of work progress, result  evaluation and reporting
  • Build and maintain good relationships with the key stakeholders internally and externally
  • Hands-on digital outreach such as social media, website management    on programme promotion
  • Perform ad hoc assignments as required

Key Requirements:

  • University graduate(s) with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience in managing creative programmes/projects, including programme development, communications, brand building and/or partnership
  • Practical experience gained in NGO/NPO, tertiary education institutes, professional bodies or public sectors is desirable
  • Substantial experience in entrepreneurship nurturance is an absolute advantage
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
  • Demonstration of strong interest in promoting design thinking, design knowledge and design industry
  • Proactive, detail-minded, responsible, adaptable and resourceful self-starter and team player with tactful communication and interpersonal skills to working among diverse communities
  • Proficient in MS Office and Chinese Word Processing; being digital-savvy or familiar with design software (e.g. Acrobat and Photoshop etc.) is an advantage
