We are looking for aspiring individuals to join our dynamic team to fill the following position:

Operations and Subtitle Officer

 Responsibilities:

  • Carry out film / video / subtitle checking and preparation of subtitle file;
  • Proofread translation files - timecueing scripts for production purposes;
  • Perform onsite subtitle setup, operation and support at screening venues;
  • Manage and co-ordinate with freelancers, translators and production houses for all subtitling issues;
  • Check subtitled files and give quality feedback to the freelancers;
  • Arrange for film censorship and co-ordinate with OFNAA;
  • Source subtitle tools for ongoing improvement of quality and efficiency;
  • Assist in all issues related to film festival operations and film screening activities of the Society; and
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or management from time to time      

Requirements: 

  • University graduate in film related discipline or equivalent;
  • Practical experience of subtitling operation is essential;
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro / easyDCP Player / subtitle editing software;
  • Knowledge of film format and video / film checking is required;
  • Ability to adapt and solve problems, good communication skills; detail oriented and can work under pressure;
  • Good command of English and Chinese is essential; other foreign language skill is a plus
  • Experience in technical coordination and working in film festival / film industry / production house will be an advantage;
  • Background in translation or proofreading is an advantage; and
  • Required to work overtime and irregular hours including full-day work on weekends and public holidays during certain periods.
