Established by the Government in 1989, The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has five academic units, namely the School of Arts & Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business & Administration, School of Education & Languages, School of Science & Technology, and the Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional & Continuing Education. Through them, we provide full-time and part-time programmes at undergraduate, post-graduate, and sub-degree levels.

Today we have over 9,500 full-time and 10,000 part-time students in the four Schools at the OUHK with about 220 programmes of studies. In addition, there are about 2,500 full-time/part-time students studying in our extension arm. The OUHK spirit is a culmination of a relentless pursuit of academic excellence and a creative approach to learning and teaching. Part-time Lecturer (Ref: 17-PTL-98-O)

 

Duties & Requirements

The appointees will mainly assist in planning, development and delivery of the postgraduate / undergraduate programmes. Duties include lecturing & tutoring, writing lecture notes, grading of assignments / examination scripts as well as conducting other teaching activities for the following course(s). Requirements for each course are also specified as follows:

Master of Arts in Legal Translation

  • Legal Bilingualism in Hong Kong / Advanced Legal Translation in Hong Kong / Principles of Property Law in Bilingual Context

Applicants should possess a higher degree in law / legal translation or a relevant discipline. They should have teaching / professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours in Cinematic Design and Photographic Digital Art

  • Music in Popular Media

Applicants should possess a higher degree in music, sound engineering, film, new media or a related discipline, preferably with experience in audio/ music production as well as good understanding of general music history, new media and music technology. Skills in song writing / music composition are preferred. They should have teaching / professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Economics or a relevant discipline. They should have teaching / professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

  • Tourism and Society / Media, Culture and Society

Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Sociology or a relevant discipline. They should have teaching / professional experience. Relevant teaching experience at tertiary level would be an advantage.

Terms of Appointment
