The City University of Macau, a private but not-for-profit institution of higher education, is now inviting applications for the following positions:

 

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences:

Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor

  • Social Work Field
  • Cultural Industries Management
  • Applied Psychology

 

Job Description

Candidates are expected to contribute significantly to the faculty programme development, successful candidates will be responsible in duties includes: (i) teaching for graduate students; (ii) supervision and coordination of student’s professional practice, dissertations and/or fieldwork in social service organizations; and (iii) facilitate research activity and exchange relevant to the programme.

 

Qualification – Social Work Field

  • Candidates should either a PhD/DSW degree holder in social work or in related field;
  • 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: social service management, mental health, gerontology, rehabilitation, medical social work, and community development, and/or 2 years of prior tertiary teaching experience in college/university are desirable;
  • A strong track record in reputable publications;
  • Experience in collaborating with the international community is preferable;
  • Or professional experience in working at social service organizations in Macau;
  • Excellent command of English and Chinese language with the ability to communicate and present clearly and succinctly

 

Qualification – Cultural Industries Management

  • Candidates should be PhD degree holder in Cultural Industries Management or related fields from a renowned University;
  • At least 2 years of teaching and research experience in higher education;
  • Have a good record on academic publications;
  • Competent in teaching one or more of the following subjects and related researches: Cultural Industries Studies, Folklore, Cultural Creativity, Cultural Consumer Psychology and New Media;
  • Excellent command of English and Mandarin with the ability to communicate and present clearly and succinctly

 

Qualification - Applied Psychology

  • Candidates should be PhD degree holder in Clinical Psychology or Psychoanalysis;
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience in higher education and clinical practice;
  • Published at least 3 papers on professional periodicals (preferably in English);
  • Competent in teaching one or more of the following subjects: Psychoanalysis and Chinese culture, Clinical Psychology, Psychological Counselling and Psychotherapy;
  • Excellent command of English and Mandarin with the ability to communicate and present clearly and succinctly

 

Remuneration

The remuneration and appointment rank offered will be competitive and commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualifications, current position and professional experience. The compensation/benefits are completive. The current local maximum income tax rate in Macao is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
