The Public Affairs (Corporate Communications) Department provides a full range of proactive communications functions to the Club including the formulation of communication strategy, issue management, racing and non-racing media relations; racing, betting, charity information and overall publicity; as well as organisation of corporate PR programmes and projects.

The Job

You will:

  • Prepare and edit English communications materials including the daily news summaries, media releases, speeches, fact sheets, presentation materials, regular and ad hoc reports, features and other publicity materials
  • Assist the head of Public Affairs Department to build effective message strategies for Club Stewards and management as well as for major charity and corporate projects, and maintain the department’s message bank
  • Assist in overseeing the production of the Club’s publications including annual reports and corporate brochures / leaflets
  • Work with relevant parties to enhance and maintain the quality of the Club’s English output and help staff develop their writing skills

About You

You should have:

  • At least a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in journalism, communications, PR or related discipline
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in corporate writing, PR or English editing, preferably with major corporations / organisations
  • Excellent writing, editing skills over a wide spectrum of subject matters from corporate communications and business, to charity work, sports, art and culture and membership services.
  • Strong knowledge and solid experience on overseeing annual report production and writing / editing corporate documents
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Knowledge of horse racing and football will be assets

Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience. A contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate. Contract renewal will be subject to mutual agreement between the Club and the individual.
