Established by the Government in 1989, The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) has five schools, namely the School of Arts & Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business & Administration, School of Education & Languages, School of Science & Technology, and the Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional & Continuing Education. Through them, we have been providing full-time and part-time programmes at undergraduate, post-graduate, and sub-degree levels.
Today we have over 9,000 full-time and 10,000 part-time students at OUHK with more than 220 programmes of studies. The appointee will be responsible for a broad range of duties, including promoting research culture, editing research manuscripts, preparing publications related to research on innovative education,providing solid and constructive advice on research proposals and reports, preparing formal reports and papers from research studies. The appointee will also be required to have sufficient expertise and seniority for demanding tasks.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree. A master’s degree holder with substantial experience in research/publications may also be considered.They should be familiar with a broad range of techniques for academic study or writing, and be able to draft and edit texts for publication as high quality research outputs. Applicants should also have an excellent command of English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua), and good organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills.They should be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time fixed term contract. Renewal of contract will be subject to performance, service need and availability of funding. Fringe benefits will include annual leave, medical & dental benefits and gratuity, where applicable.
