M+ is the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority’s museum for visual culture in Hong Kong and will focus on the 20th and the 21st century art, design, architecture and the moving image. Applications are invited for the following key Resident Site Staff positions from highly motivated individuals keen to play an integral role in delivering a world class cultural venue in the heart of Hong Kong:

 

1. Resident Architect (Architecture & Landscape) (Ref.:M+P39B_A&L1)

Candidates should:

  • Be a corporate member of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA) or have an equivalent professional qualification;
  • Have a 5 to 10 years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
  • Have relevant major building project architectural experience preferably including high quality retail, hospitality or cultural related projects covering quality exterior and ABWF fit-out core works, fair face concrete and glass / curtain walling; and
  • Preferably have prior experience as a Resident Architect.

 

2. Resident Engineer (Civil and Structural) (Ref.:M+P39B_C&S1)

Candidates should:

  • Be a Corporate Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Civil Engineering Discipline) elected after 5 December 1975, or equivalent;
  • Have a 5 to 10 years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
  • Have relevant major building project and associated external civil, drainage and utility works construction experience; and
  • Preferably have prior experience as a Resident Engineer.

 

3. Clerks of Works – (Ref.: M+P39B_AL3)

Candidates should as a minimum have:

  • A Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Studies from a Technical College in Hong Kong, or equivalent.
  • 9 years' relevant experience supervising construction on major building projects in Hong Kong, including high quality hotel or retail fitting-out works and covering ABWF works, exposed F3 and F5 concrete, pre-cast concrete façades and glass / curtain walling..
  • Grade E or above in Chinese language and in English language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.              

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the role of Assistant Clerk of Works or Works Supervisor (Building Works).

 

4. Inspector of Civil and Structural Works (Ref.:F2_C&S 15a/ M+_C&S14)

Candidates should have:

  • Either (i) a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil / Structural Engineering from a technical college in Hong Kong, or equivalent and have a minimum of 9 years’ relevant experience;
  • Or (ii) aDiploma or Higher Certificate in Civil / Structural Engineering from a technical college in Hong Kong, or equivalent and have a minimum of 7 years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
  • Or (iii) a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience as a Civil / Structural Assistant Inspector of Works on major Government or quasi-Government building projects.
  • Grade E or above in Chinese language and in English language (Syllabus B) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the role of Assistant Inspector of Works or Works Supervisor.

 

5. Works Supervisor I – (Ref.: M+_C&S17a and 17b, F2_C&S18)

Candidates should:

  • Have an Ordinary Certificate in an appropriate discipline from a technical institute in Hong Kong or equivalent; or
  • Have completed a technician apprenticeship; and
  • Have minimum 3 years’ relevant post qualification experience;
  • Preferably have major building project civil and structural works supervision experience (e.g. on large diameter bored piles, socketed H piles, pipe piles, diaphragm walling, building sub and superstructure RC works and steelwork).

 

6. Senior Technical Officer (CAD /BIM) – (Ref.: M+_PD9)

Candidates should:

  • Be experienced in managing and coordinating CAD and BIM data on large building and infrastructure projects on behalf of the Contractor or Design Consultant;
  • Be familiar with AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks software;
  • Have strong organisational skills and a willingness to take on responsibility; and
  • Either (i) Have 5 passes in HKCEE, including English Language (Syllabus B) at Grade E and Mathematics at Grade C and have an Ordinary Certificate in an appropriate discipline from a technical institute in Hong Kong or equivalent and have a minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience inclusive of 4 years’ relevant post qualification experience;
  • Or (ii) Have a Higher Certificate in an appropriate discipline from a technical college in Hong Kong or equivalent and have minimum 4 years’ relevant post qualification experience; or
    • Or (iii) Have a Diploma in an appropriate discipline from a technical institute in Hong Kong or equivalent and have minimum 4 years’ relevant post qualification experience.

 

7. Survey Officer (Engineering) (Ref.:M+_ST1)

Candidates should have:

  • Either (i) 2 passes in HKCEE, including English Language (Syllabus B) at Grade B and Mathematics at Grade C and have a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience;
  • Or (ii) 5 passes in HKCEE, including English Language (Syllabus B) at Grade E and Mathematics at Grade C and have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience;
  • Or (iii) A Higher Certificate in an appropriate discipline from a technical college in Hong Kong or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience includes land and building survey site work.

 

8. Assistant Document Controller / Assistant Clerical Officer (Ref.:M+_PD3b)

Candidates should have: 

  • Either (i) passes in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language (“Syllabus B” before 2007) at Level 2 or Grade E* and Mathematics at Grade E or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE);
  • Or (ii) a combination of five – Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / ”Attained” in a maximum of two Applied Learning Subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects including Chinese Language and English Language at Level 2 and Mathematics at Level 2 in Compulsory or Extended Parts or above in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent;
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in general office administration and management, preferably as an Assistant Clerical Officer or Clerical Officer on a Construction Project;
  • Comprehensive computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with reasonable typing speed;
  • Experience with Electronic Data Management Systems e.g. Aconex; and
  • A good standard of spoken and written English.

Candidates with less experience may be considered for the role of Clerical Assistant.

 

9. Chainman (Ref.:M+_ST5)

Candidates should have: 

  • Either (i) passes in five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language (“Syllabus B” before 2007) at Level 2 or Grade E* and Mathematics at Grade E or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE);
  • Or (ii) a combination of five – Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / ”Attained” in a maximum of two Applied Learning Subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects including Chinese Language and English Language at Level 2 and Mathematics at Level 2 in Compulsory or Extended Parts or above in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent; with Vocational Certificate or Diploma in Engineering Surveying an advantage;
  • A reasonable standard of spoken and written English and Chinese; and
  • The ability to use MS Office Word and Excel.
