Reporting to the Sales Manager, RM has the direct responsibility for the overall achievement of the Company sales plan and to contribute towards the development, co-ordination and implementation of strategies for increasing sales and profits for the brand’s range of products in Hong Kong market. 

Responsibilities:

Sales Management

  • Achieve the business objectives in terms of sell-out, sell-thru, sell-in, market share and ranking, operating profit, cash and other sales performance indicators
  • Ensure all the operations comply with audit requirements

Sell-in

  • Manage closely on budgeted and actual sell-in
  • Achieve the set objective/target by point of sales for promotions and launch of new products
  • Monitor on Margin

Sell-out

  • Follow up on total sell-thru activity (by counters and by products)
  • Closely aware of competitor’s performance with reporting and actions
  • Keep track on new products performance both on qualitative and quantitative aspects. Work closely with Marketing team for marketing/promotional plan to promote novelty products
  • Uphold the brand image by ensuring company merchandising guidelines are implemented and adhered to

Ranking

  • Enhance and maintain target ranking in various department stores especially in Top 6 Door Panel
  • Develop and maintain target position and market share of cosmetic industry in Hong Kong

Stock Management

  • Must comply with audit requirements

Code 1 Normal Goods

  • Ensure the stock control and stock holding level at counters
  • Review new product forecasts with Marketing team consistently so as to tie in closer to the launch strategy and therefore the actual stock required
  • Work with Product Manager to provide input on forecast of Future Master System
  • Manage discontinuation and phase-in/phase out
  • Work with Product Manager on the proposal of regular stock return on excessive stock to Paris

Code 2 Special Offer

  • Review new product forecasts with Marketing team consistently so as to tie in closer to the launch strategy and therefore the actual stock required
  • Ensure the stock control and stock holding level at counters
  • Establish selling plan with Marketing Team

BAs Management

  • Supervise and manage all frontline staff such as Retail Supervisor, Promotion Team Leader & Promoters, Counter Managers, Makeup Specialists, Fragrance Specialists, Skincare Specialists, Beauty advisors and Beauticians
  • Oversee the daily operation of counters and BA management to ensure company guidelines are strictly followed and respected
  • 70% of time should be spent in the field

‘Human Resources’ People Management

  • Practice ‘People’ style management
  • Act as a ‘bridge’ between the sales force and general management to provide timely feedback on all issues
  • Improve BA productivity per counter by coaching and motivating staff
  • Implement ‘Best Employer’ practice
  • Implement Retail Excellence Program

Recruitment

  • Work closely with RS and Training Manager to select the right candidate which can represent the brand’s image and grow with the brand

Annual Performance Appraisal

  • Besides regular counter visits, work closely with RS and Training Manager to review the performance standard of frontline staff
  • Besides regular counter visits, work closely with RS and Training Manager to review the results of the Mystery Shopping Program

BC Salary System review

  • Enhance and review BA salary system. Setting and implementation of salary structure on basic salary, commission and incentive plan.
  • Review and propose BA incentive plan to maximize motivation respecting the pre-set budget guidelines.
  • Make sure the system always in line with Hong Kong labor law and is motivating and justify with the staff role and responsibilities.

Expenses/Cost Control

  • Follow closely on Purchase Order procedure
  • Monitor and work closely with SSC team of the responsible Sell-in and Sell-out cost centers

Monitor On Payment by Supplier

  • Work closely with SSC team on the post-promotion administrative schedule and also counter operation so as to tie in the deadline of specific cut-off date and payment date

Communication

External: Market

  • Aware of competitors’ trend and performance for strategic sales planning

External: Trade

  • Implement trade marketing plan
  • Maintain close contacts with the trade at the store level to maximize brand growth
  • Collect information on overall department store activities and development for supporting the business development of Brand Manager

In-house

  • Work closely with Senior Marketing Executives and Training Department and other staff in office to ensure a smooth operation of the team

Requirements

  • Good command of English, both conversational and written.  Fair Mandarin is a plus.
  • University education an extra bonus
  • Over 5 years' sales management experience in cosmetics or luxury products or higher segment consumer goods.  Department store and retailing experience are important
  • Strong negotiating and interpersonal communication skill
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skill
  • A result-driven achiever with ambition, motivation and dynamism
  • Hardworking and mature implementer with a strong sense of responsibility and assertiveness
  • A "people" style management with strong leadership and ability to develop a strong team spirit, and to drive towards achievement of target
