Under general direction, to provide legal counsel and advice on international legal activities for the Company and its subsidiaries and alliances, including international acquisitions and sales, litigation, environmental regulations, regulatory and labor law compliance; to assist in any advice on government affairs lobbying; to advise Regional Senior Management on the structuring, negotiation and documentation of projects, transactions and operations in the Region; to support and assist Managing Director in matters of commercial strategies and tactics, tax, corporate governance and risk management; to serve as legal counsel to Regional management with the objective of ensuring legal fitness and compliance with local laws and regulations.
Law degree from an accredited institution and admission to the Bar or Law Society or legal association of practitioners or equivalent professional body and current practicing Certificate or equivalent document (where available).
- Six (6) years related experience as an attorney, either in a private law firm or the legal department of a publicly-held corporation
- Five (5) years experience in commercial, corporate law or litigation
- Preferably over 8 years of experience – with enough experience to work independently
- PRC bar qualification and experience working both in and outside China desired
- Experience on integration related work is desired
