Established by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”) in 2010, Tung Wah College (the “College”) is a self-financed degree-granting institution registered under the Post-Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap.320). Following the educational ideals of TWGHs and leveraging on its renowned strengths and expertise, the College aims to provide high quality tertiary education and nurture youngsters to possess the qualities of “T ∙ W ∙ C” (i.e. Talent in relevant professions, Wisdom in problem-solving and Commitment to responsibilities) and become socially responsible and caring professionals.
The College currently offers degree programmes in Business Administration (major in Entrepreneurship and Management, Financial Services, Health Services Management, Marketing & Professional Accountancy), Health Science (major in Applied Gerontology, Nursing), Medical Science (major in Basic Medical Sciences, Forensic Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiation Therapy & Veterinary Health Studies), Occupational Therapy, Social Science (major in Applied Psychology). (1) Senior Lecturer / Lecturer / Assistant Lecturer
The appointee will be responsible for performing teaching duties across multiple disciplines; assisting in managing the academic affairs including programme development; promoting good teaching and collaborative research; increasing publication output; performing other academic activities including academic counseling, examination and assessment, student recruitment, committee works, whole person development activities of students, and other scholarly activities; and liaising with the health care industry for job placements and professional development.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in relevant discipline, a valid Registered Nurse practicing certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong, and relevant teaching experience in tertiary education sector. Applicants with a Master’s degree should have at least 6 years (for Senior Lecturer) or 3 years (for Lecturer) of teaching experience in teaching, programme development and programme leadership in tertiary education sector.
Candidates with less experience would be considered for Assistant Lecturer post.
(2) Senior Clinical Associate / Clinical Associate
The appointee will be required to supervise students in their clinical training; perform other teaching and learning activities, including preparing and developing teaching materials, supervising clinical projects, tutorials and laboratory-based practical classes, evaluating clinical performance and skills; act as student advisors and counselors; provide support to co-curricular activities; take part in the School’s administration and consultancy; undertake professional service to external professional body/organization and provide public services to the community; contribute to strategic initiatives of the College, management and administration, etc.; coordinate student clinical placement with local, national and overseas healthcare agencies; and perform any other duties as assigned.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Nursing or a closely related discipline with at least 10 years (for Senior Clinical Associate) or 5 years (for Clinical Associate) of post-registration clinical experience in hospital/ community setting; a valid Registered Nurse practicing certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong; demonstrated a high level of competence in clinical teaching and evidence of continuing development as clinical mentor; and with good communication skills and be able to use English as the medium of instruction.
