Senior Manager, Events and Conferences (Ref: COBL-GME-SMEC)

 

 

 

To support the Events & Conferences team on a series of SCMP signature events and franchises all through the year. Key areas include:

 

  • Marketing and communication planning
  • Project & resource planning
  • Audience development
  • On-site execution and cost management
  • Sponsorship fulfilment and client relationship management
  • Team management

 

Major Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop, organise and deliver projects from proposal to execution
  • Set, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities on every project
  • Effectively work with multiple internal departments and manage all external vendors to ensure quality and smooth delivery of events, that are within budget, completed in a timely manner and with flawless on-site execution
  • Develop and execute marketing plans on SCMP & external platforms (through database development & partnership relations) aimed to drive event ticket sales, attendance or participation, and brand awareness in the market
  • Communicate, maintain and develop client and/or partner relationships, ensure excellent customer service and quality delivery for the benefit of long-term business development
  • Proactively review and manage event progress, to optimise performance within existing resource allocation & manage profitability of the business
  • Pre & Post event finance administration & budget management
  • Regular reports on ROI and key performance metrics for forward planning
  • Provide strategic input, explore new initiatives & innovative event ideas, recommend venues & vendors for cost effective & high quality delivery and better audience / sponsor engagement

 

 

 Job Requirements:

 

  • Degree holder preferably in marketing, communication, business or related disciplines
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in event/ PR/ advertising field (agency or in-house) with track record of delivering high-quality events or integrated marketing campaign
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Cantonese; Mandarin would be an advantage
  • Excellent project management skills with outstanding attention to details
  • Quick thinking, resourceful, creative and possess a can-do spirit
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter with energy and adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Dedicated team player, strong interpersonal and client servicing skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Able to work overtime and weekends if required
