Reporting to the Deputy General Manager Projects, the successful candidate is responsible for the effective and efficient construction management of large infrastructure projects including civil, building and E&M works. This involves managing construction contractors to ensure that safety, quality, programme and budget requirements are met; managing the design consultants to ensure that timely and accurate information is received for the construction process; close liaison and coordination with the stakeholders to manage the interfaces with the construction; providing pre-construction advice to the design teams to improve constructability; and managing all aspects of the construction process up to commissioning and contract close-out.
The successful candidate should be a Chartered Engineer with a degree in civil, structural, electrical or mechanical engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 8 years’ of post qualification experience. S/he shall have solid experience in the construction management of large multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, familiar with statutory processing and have a good understanding of construction methods and contract management. The candidate shall have excellent leadership, problem solving and communication skills. Experience of construction management in an operating airport environment is an advantage.
