Stables Administration Manager

The Department

Our Racing Operations Department manages vast areas where horses train and race. It is an interesting, busy and natural environment where you will find some of Hong Kong's most colourful people, like racing professionals, world class sportsman, agronomist and engineers.

The Job

You will:

 

  • arrange accurate distribution of stables staff prize money and allowance to eligible stables staff. Ensure proper financial control is exercised
  • work closely with all functional teams in Racing Operations to conduct qualitative and quantitative reviews on business processes to identify key performance driver and to ensure escalation of operational efficiency
  • develop and evaluate all key operational metrics and propose solutions to management for better strategic planning and decision making
  • work closely with all functional teams to derive sound policies, Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and guidelines to drive operational efficiency
  • identify opportunities and build business cases and scenario analysis to support business expansion in accelerating both horse and owner growth. Collate financial data and financial analysis to support the recommended solutions and develop action plans
  • evaluate the supply and charging mechanisms on livery, feed and fodder, bedding and other stables consumption costs. Work with Stables Operations team to develop new processes on improving efficiency and reducing costs
  • assist in planning and preparing stables financial budgets, as well as ensure expenses are spent in line with approved budgets for achieving operational objectives
  • establish and update all relevant policies, SOPs and guidelines in line with changing operating requirements and environments

 

About You

You should have:

 

  • tertiary education with related administrative experience in financial budgeting, business analysis and business processes management
  • strong leadership capabilities and business acumen
  • prior experience in implementing change management initiatives
  • good analytical and presentation skills for effective communication with all stakeholders
  • excellent command in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • some racing knowledge and passion with horses will be an added advantage
