CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT OFFICE 

Surveying Officer (Quantity) (Ref. 16092303-IE)
[to be appointed at the substantive post of Project Officer] 

Duties 

The appointee will be responsible for the provision of technical services in particular for managing works contracts and consultant agreements in relation to capital works, alterations, additions and improvement projects.  He/She will be required to: 

(a)  provide pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services for building/building services works; 

(b)  prepare estimates, tender documents, cost analysis and cost data information; 

(c)  check quotations, payment bills and prepare final accounts for contracts handled by in-house staff; 

(d)  liaise and coordinate with appointed consultants for contract administration services; 

(e)  assist in preparing documents and managing the consultancy agreements; and 

(f)  perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates. 

The appointee may also be required to work outside office hours if necessary. 

Qualifications 

Applicants should: 

(a)    have a recognised degree or a diploma in construction related disciplines; 

(b)    have at least three years of relevant experience in quantity surveying related works; 

(c)    be proficient in Microsoft Office software including MS Word and Excel; 

(d)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and 

(e)    be able to work independently. 

Preference will be given to those with knowledge of Access or other relational database software, AutoCAD, Revit or similar software.  Candidates with less experience will also be considered. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a test of computer software applications. 

Remuneration and Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
