Technical Manager (Building Services) (Ref. 16093014-IE)


The appointee will be required to:

(a)    lead and supervise a team of technical/front-line staff;

(b)    plan, organize and co-ordinate the operation, repairs and maintenance/replacement/upgrading of building services installations for all University’s premises on campus and off-campus;

(c)    liaise and co-ordinate with the parties concerned regarding the implementation of planned maintenance/replacement/upgrading works;

(d)    design, prepare specifications and drawings for the planned maintenance and minor works, and make recommendations on received tenders;

(e)    assist in liaising with other sections of the Office and the Campus Development Office on testing, commissioning and taking over of installations in renovated areas and/or in newly-completed buildings;

(f)    monitor the progress/quality of works carried out by contractors/in-house staff; and

(g)   perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Office or his delegates.


Applicants should have:

(a)    a recognised degree in Building Services or building related disciplines plus at least five years of relevant and solid experience at supervisory positions;

(b)    a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(c)    good client services mindset and interpersonal skills; and

(b)    the good qualities of being a team leader as well as a team player;

Preference will be given to those with a higher education qualification.

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.  Applicants should state their current and expected salary in the application.
