The Technological and Higher Education Institute (THEi) offers over 20 innovative degree programmes that are vocationally oriented and developed with significant industry input through three faculties - Faculty of Design and Environment, Faculty of Management and Hospitality, and Faculty of Science and Technology.  All the programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and most are also accredited by the relevant professional bodies.  At present, seven programmes are in the Government’s Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP), which provides subsidies to students varying from $40,000 to $70,000 per year.

In the academic year 2017/18, THEi will move to a new campus in Chai Wan next to the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) campus at Chai Wan.

Employment Period:
12 months (to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal)

Major Duties:
The appointee shall report to the Principal Investigator (PI) and assist the PI in conducting research work and experiments related to microbiology, molecular biology, and protein sciences. He/she will be required to perform experiments, and to collect and analyse data.

Requirements:
For the post of Research Assistant I, applicants should have a master’s degree in biochemistry, biology, or related disciplines; or a recognised degree with relevant work experience.

For the post of Research Assistant II, applicants should have a recognised sub-degree in biochemistry, biology, or related disciplines; or equivalent level of study.

Candidates with hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques and statistical analyses would have an advantage. Fresh graduates will also be considered.

A highly competitive salary that is commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
