HONG KONG, Nov. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ACE Group announced today that its life and general insurance operations in Hong Kong jointly held their 'Day of Service' from 14-16 October, during which more than 60 employees were involved in two different initiatives. These were volunteering at Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve to remove Mikania vines which smother natural vegetation, as well as helping to prepare about 1,400 sets of meals at Food Angel's kitchen to feed people in need.
A famous site for protecting and appreciating butterflies, Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve provides a platform to monitor the ecological environment of Fung Yuen and its adjacent area, as well as to promote awareness of ecological and rural conservation. On the other hand, Food Angel's food rescue and assistance program is a meaningful and practical approach to recycle unconsumed food and transform them into nutritious hot meals for the underprivileged.

Since 2012, the Regional 'Day of Service' has been annual event for ACE's employees across 11 Asia Pacific markets to devote their time to various local charitable projects during a designated week of the year.
