Bank seeks relationship managers
Standard Chartered Bank is recruiting relationship managers. Primarily, they will be responsible for marketing new business and helping to maximise profitability by providing differentiated services for premier customers.
In doing so, they will need to identity prospective clients, and then build relationships with them by offering outstanding personalised services.
Candidates should have a tertiary education with some courses in finance. Experience in consumer banking sales and service, especially in the affluent market segment, will be an advantage.
"We prefer candidates with HKSI [Hong Kong Securities Institute] and insurance licences," says Mannet Tse, senior resourcing manager, consumer banking, Standard Chartered Bank Hong Kong. "They need to be proficient in understanding and explaining appropriate financial information to customers, have an excellent service attitude, and possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills."
New hires will have to complete a six-week programme covering on-boarding and initial training. Sales counsellors provide coaching, and share advice and best practices to help kick-start careers with the bank. Relationship managers will also receive training in soft skills and sales techniques. "Candidates should have market knowledge and be confident," Tse says.
