Knight Frank seeks surveying graduates

Published on Thursday, 09 Dec 2010

One of the world's biggest property consultancy and agency firms is offering surveying graduates a golden opportunity for a great start to their professional careers.

"We are planning to recruit high-calibre people to join our 2011 graduate surveyor programme," says Sarah Chan, human resources director, Greater China, at Knight Frank. "The aim is to groom them as future leaders in the property consultancy industry."

A basic requirement is a bachelor's degree in surveying, real estate or a related discipline. Candidates should be good team players with excellent language proficiency, and communication and interpersonal skills.

"We are looking for people who are meticulous, confident and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility," Chan says.

Trainee surveyors undertake a comprehensive two-year programme that entails job rotations and formal classroom training. They also receive coaching and mentoring from experienced colleagues.

Initial assignments include market research, property and business valuations, feasibility studies and site inspections. Trainees also learn to handle matters relating to land and lease administration.

"During the assessment process, applicants must be ready for written tests, group activities and panel interviews," Chan says. "They should also keep abreast of market developments and be familiar with our corporate background."

Career ladder

  • Programme graduates can join the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
  • The company grants training subsidies and study leave to staff who sign up for professional development courses and professional competence assessments
