The Great Place to Work Institute’s conference discussed the multigenerational workforce and its challenges, and the awards celebrated the best places to be employed.

The Great Place to Work Institute’s conference and “Best Companies to Work for® in Greater China Awards” ceremony, for which Classified Post and cpjobs.com are exclusive media partners, showed how creating a great workplace can benefit everyone involved in the China market. Participants at the event discussed how to ensure a solid workplace culture and explained all the benefits that comes with it. The conference and awards, which were held at the Langham Hotel, Xintiandi, Shanghai on December 6, 2018, were supported by WINGs and HRoot. All the guests said they found the conference a rewarding experience.

The focus of the conference was on the “Multigenerational Workforce and Its Challenges.” To help participants understand relationships between employees and management, Great Place to Work invited speakers from Cisco, Coca-Cola, FMC, Metathink, and Mars, as well as StarMaker, to address the latest trends and developments in workplace culture. Speakers talked about how to balance the needs of different age groups in the workplace.

The conference gathered together a highly targeted, high-level, strategically minded group of people, with 335 guests including CEOs from corporations, company presidents, human resources directors, and human resources professionals. Later in the evening, the Best Companies to Work for® Awards ceremony was held at the same location.

The Best Companies to Work for® list in Greater China was evaluated using the Trust Index and Culture Audit scores from participating companies. Through proprietary assessment tools, benchmarks and certification programs, Great Place to Work provides the expertise needed to create, sustain, and recognise outstanding workplace cultures. This year, 36 multinational companies made it to the list. The companies which won awards will be able to use the Best Companies to Work for® logo for one year, and will be the subject of a feature published in Bloomberg Businessweek.

“I am very happy to have more companies certified as Best Workplaces,” said Jose Carlos Bezanilla, CEO of Greater China at the Great Place to Work Institute. “We have seen many companies constantly striving to improve their work environment and witnessed that different companies are building great workplaces for their employees.” Data explaining the “Companies Improved Gender Equality” issues was released by Tails Mao, head of research and logistics at Great Place to Work Greater China.
