A good Hong Kong job search is structured like a project. You need a goal, a timeline, a weekly cadence, and a small number of hypotheses you're willing to kill quickly.
Start with a target list of 20–30 companies. Not roles — companies. Roles come and go; companies hire continuously in the functions you care about.
For each company, identify the hiring manager and one recent joiner in a similar function. These are the two people you want to speak to — not recruiters.
Reach out with a short, specific message: what you do, why you're writing to them specifically, and one concrete question. No template. No 'I'd love to connect.' Specific always beats general.
