We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Mainland and International Affairs Office:

 

Assistant Manager/ Officer (Mainland) (Mainland and International Affairs) (Ref: 26001WL)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Supporting Chinese Mainland Student Recruitment:

    • Analyse recruitment data, monitor market trends and competitor strategies, and track policy developments to inform evidence-based recruitment decisions

    • Assist in sourcing and evaluating potential student recruitment opportunities across the Chinese Mainland

    • Support the execution of the Chinese Mainland student recruitment plan, contributing to the recruitment pipeline that leads to the enrolment of mainland students at the University; and

    • Assist in developing and refining processes to ensure efficient and effective resolution of recruitment-related enquiries

 

  • Admissions Operations Support:

    • Assist in the day-to-day management of admissions operations, ensuring the smooth and timely processing of applications

    • Support the implementation of admissions procedures and workflows under the guidance of senior staff; and

    • Provide operational support throughout the admissions journey to help retain and convert strong candidates

 

  • Supporting Management on External Engagements:

    • Provide support to management regarding HKMU's external engagements, including assisting with the coordination of incoming visits from partner institutions and higher education organisations from Chinese mainland, as well as supporting student mobility missions

 

  • Providing executive and administrative support to the Mainland and International Affairs Office; and

 

  • Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager or Director of Mainland and International Affairs.

 

Candidates with less experience and/or low qualification may be considered for post of Officer.

 

 

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognized Bachelor's degree; a background in Education, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline is preferred

  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience; prior experience in mainland student recruitment, educational promotion, or cross-border collaborative projects is an advantage

  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Mandarin is a MUST

  • Familiarity with the mainland education system and admission policies, with an understanding of the tertiary education needs of students across different provinces and cities

  • Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills, with a strong team spirit

  • Ability to work independently and willingness to travel to Chinese mainland cities; and

  • Proficiency in office software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
