AI Systems Architect/Cloud & AI Infrastructure Lead (over $60K)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily operations, performance monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery for mission-critical infrastructure, including AI-specific hardware such as GPU clusters and high-performance storage. Provide roster-based non-office hours support (compensated by time off in lieu).

• Lead end-to-end infrastructure projects, system integrations, software release cycles, and patch management. Develop execution plans, assess operational strategies, and drive tasks to completion under tight deadlines with minimal support.

• Ensure compliance with Government IT security policies (e.g., S17, G3) and ISO27001/ISO27701. Facilitate Security Risk Assessments and Audits (SRAA), and assist in drafting technical documents, operation procedures, tender specifications, and solution proposals.

• Supervise junior staff, manage vendor activities, and perform quality assurance on contractor deliverables. Provide proactive updates to management, ensuring architectural roadmaps align with business objectives.
  

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, with at least 6 years of post-qualification IT experience, including 2+ years in an Architect, supervisory, or senior technical support role.

• Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in VMware enterprise technologies OR enterprise AI/LLM deployments and containerisation (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes/K3s). Dual-domain expertise is a distinct advantage. Relevant certifications (VMware Certified Advanced Professional, containerisation, AI, IT security) are highly preferred.

• Strong skills in vendor and project management (MS Project required).

• Knowledge of networking, Government IT security standards, ISO 27001/27701, and data centre relocation.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD), ITIL principles, and Operational Readiness Assessments to ensure solutions are operationally feasible and maintainable.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in VMware, containerisation, AI, or IT security.

• Experience in enterprise AI/LLM deployments, GPU clusters, and cloud-native infrastructure.

• Strong understanding of government IT frameworks and compliance standards.

• Proven ability to lead under pressure, deliver results independently, and align technical solutions with business goals.
