  • Our Yuen Long workshop serves as a dedicated assembly and testing facility for tailor-made diesel generator sets. Supported by in-house engineering and technical expertise, the workshop is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and preparing generator sets for delivery.

  • The workshop plays an important role in ensuring engineering accuracy, maintaining product quality, improving assembly and testing efficiency, supporting customised customer requirements, and delivering reliable generator sets on schedule.

Role Mission

  • Lead and manage the engineering function supporting the design, configuration, assembly, testing, commissioning, and delivery of tailor-made diesel generator sets and related power systems.

  • Ensure that engineering solutions are technically sound, commercially practical, compliant with customer requirements and applicable standards, and effectively implemented by the workshop and project teams.

  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, product reliability, technical documentation, testing methods, quality, safety, cost control, and team capability. Through strong engineering leadership and cross-functional collaboration, you will support the delivery of dependable and high-quality power solutions to customers.

Role Summary

  • Lead the engineering function for tailor-made diesel generator sets and related power systems.

  • Report to the Chief Operating Officer and lead a team of approximately 30 employees, including engineering, technical, testing, assembly, and workshop personnel.

  • Oversee engineering activities from initial customer and project requirement review through to design coordination, equipment configuration, assembly support, testing, commissioning, and final delivery.

  • Review technical drawings, specifications, system configurations, equipment selections, load requirements, testing standards, and project documentation.

  • Provide engineering direction and practical support to workshop, project, service, and testing teams.

  • Work closely with Engineering, Project, Sales, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, customers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Take responsibility for engineering quality, design accuracy, technical compliance, product performance, troubleshooting, project support, and team development.

  • Experience in diesel generator sets, power-generation equipment, or related power solutions would be a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering activities for diesel generator sets and related power systems, including engines, alternators, control panels, enclosures, fuel systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, electrical wiring, protection systems, and associated components.

  • Review customer requirements, tender documents, project specifications, technical drawings, single-line diagrams, equipment data sheets, load requirements, applicable standards, and delivery schedules.

  • Develop and review generator set configurations, equipment selections, system interfaces, wiring arrangements, control logic, protection functions, and customised technical solutions.

  • Ensure engineering designs and product configurations are practical for assembly, testing, installation, maintenance, and long-term operation.

  • Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments to clarify technical requirements and resolve engineering issues.

  • Prepare, review, and control engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials, wiring information, equipment schedules, technical submissions, work instructions, testing procedures, and commissioning documents.

  • Manage engineering changes, design revisions, component substitutions, customer-specific modifications, and technical deviations.

  • Provide engineering support to production and workshop teams during assembly, installation, wiring, testing, inspection, commissioning, and final product preparation.

  • Establish and maintain appropriate engineering standards, design practices, testing requirements, inspection procedures, and product-release criteria.

  • Ensure completed generator sets undergo the required testing, inspection, commissioning checks, performance verification, and engineering approval before shipment or delivery.

  • Investigate design issues, product defects, assembly problems, testing failures, equipment abnormalities, technical non-conformities, and customer complaints.

  • Conduct root-cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurring engineering, quality, and product-performance issues.

  • Provide hands-on support in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, control, wiring, starting, charging, cooling, fuel, exhaust, load, and system-integration problems.

  • Support site installation, testing, commissioning, servicing, and technical problem resolution when required.

  • Provide engineering advice and technical support to customers, contractors, project managers, service engineers, workshop personnel, and internal teams.

  • Ensure engineering activities comply with internal quality standards, ISO requirements, approved specifications, relevant industry standards, and applicable statutory and safety regulations.

  • Work with the Quality team to manage technical documentation, non-conformities, corrective actions, audits, inspection records, and product-release requirements.

  • Drive engineering improvements to enhance product reliability, system performance, maintainability, testing accuracy, safety, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

  • Improve engineering and workshop processes to reduce design errors, rework, testing failures, project delays, material loss, and unnecessary operating costs.

  • Support the introduction of new products, customised generator configurations, control systems, engineering methods, and technical improvements.

  • Lead, supervise, coach, and develop a team of approximately 30 engineering, technical, testing, assembly, and workshop employees.

  • Establish training plans and provide engineering guidance and knowledge transfer to engineers, technicians, testing personnel, service staff, and workshop teams.

  • Promote a culture of engineering discipline, technical excellence, problem-solving, quality awareness, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor engineering workload, resource allocation, project priorities, technical deliverables, and response times.

  • Ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with occupational health, safety, environmental, fire-safety, and operational requirements.

  • Perform other engineering, project-support, technical, and operational duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.

Ideal Candidate

  • Tertiary education in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • More than 5 years of experience in engineering management, project engineering, product engineering, design engineering, systems engineering, service engineering, or a similar supervisory or leadership role in a manufacturing, engineering, construction, or power-related environment.

  • Solid practical knowledge of diesel generator sets, power-generation equipment, engines, alternators, control panels, electrical systems, industrial machinery, or related power solutions.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical system integration, equipment configuration, engineering design, assembly requirements, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and product release.

  • Able to interpret and review technical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics, product specifications, equipment data sheets, load calculations, testing procedures, and project documentation.

  • Experience in preparing or reviewing engineering drawings, technical submissions, bills of materials, equipment schedules, work instructions, testing protocols, inspection records, commissioning documents, and equipment manuals.

  • Familiarity with quality management systems, including ISO 9001, internal quality procedures, corrective and preventive actions, non-conformity management, engineering change control, and audit requirements.

  • Practical, hands-on, and capable of diagnosing and resolving complex engineering, product, technical, and project-related problems effectively.

  • Experience in site installation, equipment commissioning, field troubleshooting, project engineering, or customer technical support would be an advantage.

  • Able to manage multiple projects and technical priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining high engineering standards.

  • Able to work closely with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, engineers, technicians, and internal departments.

  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines without compromising technical standards, safety, product quality, or regulatory compliance.

  • Proficient in English and Cantonese or Mandarin.
