Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide administrative support to University Grants Committee (UGC)/Research Grants Council (RGC) and Hong Kong Government grants and project matters, which include but not limited to coordination of research grant applications, monitoring and submission of reports, etc.;
(b) assist in preparing documents and statistical analysis/reports related to research grants/ projects/awards;
(c) provide secretarial service to committees, working groups and/or task forces;
(d) coordinate and organise research-related activities and events, and provide on-the-spot logistic support;
(e) liaise with internal and external stakeholders;
(f) supervise junior staff; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.
Qualification
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree with at least five years of post-qualification administrative and supervisory experience, preferably in the administration of research project matters;
(b) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being a definite asset;
(c) good computer literacy, including Chinese word processing;
(d) excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with individuals with different cultural backgrounds; and
(e) strong self-motivation and ability to complete tasks independently.
Applicants with less supervisory experience may be considered for appointment at a lower rank.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
