Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) drive the School’s data strategy by defining critical data requirements and overseeing the continuous enhancement of the data ecosystem to ensure the capture of high-value data assets;

(b) collect, synthesise and analyse School-related data to build interactive dashboards, benchmarking reports and predictive models (using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python and Excel) to support strategic planning and decision-making;

(c) design and execute engagement strategies for key stakeholders, including alumni, academic supervisors and students, to enhance satisfaction, retention and network value;

(d) manage comprehensive alumni records and track engagement metrics, ensuring accurate records and compliance with data privacy requirements to support strategic outreach efforts;

(e) prepare high-quality management reports, presentation materials, narratives, etc. in a professional manner;

(f) serve on committees and other working groups and/or task forces;

(g) establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; and

(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of School or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised degree, preferably in Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline;

(b) have at least five years of solid post-qualification experience, preferably with supervisory experience gained in tertiary institutions, public sector organisations or sizeable corporations;

(c) be proficient in analytical and digital tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, Microsoft Power Platform, Generative AI applications and advanced Excel;

(d) possess substantial knowledge of and experience in data management, data governance, benchmarking, dashboard development and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions;

(e) possess experience or a track record in stakeholder engagement, alumni relations and community building;

(f) possess an excellent analytical mindset and be able to make prudent judgement;

(g) be proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively as a good team player;

(h) possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with diverse stakeholders;

(i) have excellent time management and multi-tasking skills, and be able to work effectively under pressure; and

(j) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and be able to communicate effectively in Putonghua.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
